Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of the Fuelink mobile application and the associated backend service at fuelink.eu/backend-api (together, "the Service"). By installing or using Fuelink you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and stop using the Service.
1. Who can use Fuelink
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use Fuelink with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Use that violates applicable law is not permitted.
2. Your account & household
Fuelink does not require an email address or password. Instead, the app generates a random household code (for example FAM-X7K2-9Y4P) on first launch. That code is the sole credential and identifies the records associated with your household. You are responsible for keeping your household code private; anyone who has it can read and write the household's data.
If you lose every device tied to a household, you may be able to recover access using the optional recovery code, provided you saved it when prompted. We cannot recover a household if both the household code and the recovery code are lost.
3. The free tier and Fuelink Pro
The base app is free. Some features — unlimited vehicles, extra household members, the full export, Fuelink Wrapped, OCR scans and trip logs beyond the free monthly allowance — require a "Fuelink Pro" subscription. The current plans are:
- Free — 1 vehicle, 1 household member, 10 trips/month, 5 OCR scans/month.
- Premium Monthly — recurring monthly charge, unlimited everything, 2 household members.
- Premium Annual — recurring annual charge, unlimited everything, 2 household members. Includes a 14-day free trial for first-time subscribers.
- Family — recurring annual charge, unlimited everything, 6 household members. Includes a 14-day free trial for first-time subscribers.
- Lifetime — one-time payment, unlimited everything for the lifetime of the Service.
Prices are shown inside the app and may differ by country. The displayed price at the moment of purchase is the price you pay.
3.1 Billing & renewal
All purchases are made through the app store you installed Fuelink from — Google Play on Android (or the Apple App Store on iOS) — and are subject to that store's terms of sale. Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You manage or cancel a subscription through your store account (we also link you there from Settings → Plan → Manage); cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and you retain Pro features until then. We do not prorate or refund partial periods.
If a renewal payment fails, the store may stop the subscription and the app may downgrade you to the free tier after a short grace period until payment is restored.
3.2 14-day free trial
The trial unlocks Pro-level features for 14 days from the moment you activate it. The trial may be activated only once per household. At the end of the trial, no charge is taken automatically — you must choose a paid plan if you want to keep Pro features.
3.3 Refunds
Purchases are made through your app store, so refunds are handled according to that store's refund policy (Google Play / Apple). Where required by consumer-protection law (for example the EU "cooling-off" period for digital services that have not yet started), we will honour the right to withdraw. Outside that mandatory window, subscriptions are non-refundable. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable once the unlock is granted.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app or backend, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Attack, scrape, overload, or otherwise interfere with the backend — for example by sending requests at rates higher than what the rate-limiter permits, by attempting to enumerate other households, or by bypassing the freemium gates.
- Upload content that you are not entitled to share, that contains malware, or that infringes a third party's rights.
We may suspend or terminate access for households that engage in the above.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the data you enter into Fuelink (fuel entries, vehicles, trips, maintenance records, optional receipt photos). You grant us a non-exclusive, limited licence to store and process this data solely to provide the Service to you and the other members of your household.
For receipt-scan (OCR) requests, you grant us the right to forward the image to our OCR provider for the sole purpose of returning the extracted text to you. Images are processed in memory only and are not persisted on our backend or on the OCR provider's servers.
6. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties whose own terms apply to the parts they provide:
- Google Play (and the Apple App Store on iOS) — in-app purchase processing, with RevenueCat validating purchase receipts.
- OpenRouter / Google Gemini — receipt OCR.
- OpenStreetMap and Carto — basemap tiles for trip previews.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service running but provide no uptime guarantee. We may, with reasonable notice when possible, suspend parts of the Service for maintenance, upgrades, security, or to comply with applicable law. The mobile app retains a local copy of your data and will continue to function offline for read access; new entries created offline are synced when the connection is restored.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Maintenance predictions, fuel-economy calculations, CO₂ estimates and other derived figures are informational only and must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. You are solely responsible for maintaining your vehicles in a safe condition and for complying with local traffic and safety regulations.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither we nor our subprocessors are liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data loss, or service interruption arising from your use of the Service. Where law imposes a minimum mandatory liability, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us during the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or €30 — whichever is greater.
10. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations we will surface a notice inside the app or at this URL, with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your household at any time via Settings → Account → Delete account. We may terminate or suspend a household's access for material breach of these Terms, providing notice where practicable.
12. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict-of-laws provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be submitted to the competent courts of Greece, except where mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence grants you the right to sue locally.
